Calm Anxiety. Boost Confidence.

Helping anxious and overwhelmed teens

manage their emotions with confidence.

Counseling for ages 10+

My clients practice the skills to become confident during stress.

We work on mindsets. It’s growth work.

We learn to appreciate the challenges we face.

My clients feel confident when faced with stress.

But, it wasn’t always that way.

When my clients first came in, they felt like everything was piling up .

They were letting others down.

They were constantly worried something bad was going to happen.

They would compare themselves to others.

The anxiety began to ruin their confidence.

Eventually, the anxiety became unbearable.

They knew it was time to seek help.

  • They’re tired of feeling tired and letting others down.

  • At times, they feel detached from reality, almost like an out-of-body experience.

  • They’ve become easily irritated by friends and family.

  • They want someone to talk to - someone that GETS IT.

  • They yearn for strategies that can help them with the non-stop thinking.

  • They want to learn more about anxiety so they can better manage it.

LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR

I get it. When your thoughts are spiraling non-stop, it makes you feel on edge, and it’s exhausting.

Are you worrying too much about different things??

I hear it all too often. Clients will tell me, “It’s hard to fall asleep because my mind won’t shut off.”

Your thoughts go from one memory in the past, to a hypothetical scenario in the future.

Rarely does our anxiety keep us in the present moment.

Have you ever had an intrusive thought that was both terrifying, and yet..a relief?

If this is you, take an exhale. You’re not the only one.

I have so many strategies I’d love to share with you.

I want to help you learn the skill of managing your emotions.

I bet you have already been told to take a deep breath.

But, sometimes (most of the time) we need more than that.

Why?

Because you’re getting older.

Your friendships are more complex.

You have demanding schedules.

You’re developing and evolving as a person.

Emotion regulation is a
life skill we all need!

Let’s work to understand the roots of your overwhelm.

You will end each session with new strategies to manage your emotional discomfort.

FAQs

  • Such a valid question, and a question only you can answer! Oftentimes, I’ll get a client and they have this idea that therapy is only for those kids.

Therapy is for anyone that has identified a need in their life and that wants support in achieving it. Therapy isn’t only for childhood trauma, abuse, grief or addiction. Therapy can also be for growth work, goal setting, relationship mending, social skills…and so much more!

If you’re struggling or just curious, reach out. I’d love to chat.

  • The first session (intake) is $175. After that, all sessions are $155 for a 55 minute appointment.

You can find more information on my Contact Me page.

  • Soon! I am in the process of getting paneled with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Care Network, and Priority Health. Until the paneling process is complete, I am offering a reduced fee for those that will be in-network with the three insurances listed above.

If you are not in-network with those three, we can discuss out-of-network benefits.

I also accept cash, Venmo, most major credit cards, along with HSA.

  • Yes, this is part of the intake interview.  Insurance companies require a diagnostic assessment and diagnosis in order to reimburse services. During the first session (intake),  I will gather history and we will talk about present concerns.  A diagnosis allows us to name the problem we are treating and can also guide interventions.

Sometimes however, more extensive testing will be required. If this is the case, or if I believe your needs are beyond my expertise, we will discuss referral options.

  • In Michigan, you have autonomy and control over your mental health treatment if you are 14 years of age or older. Regardless of your age, I will respect the confidentiality of what you share with me during session. If we ever need to involve another adult in your life for safety reasons, you will know this ahead of time.

Client confidentiality is essential for the therapeutic growth. I go into more detail during the intake session. I will make sure all of us are on the same page and will answer any questions you may have.

  • It all depends on your goals for therapy! I see most clients for 10-12 sessions on a consistent, weekly basis. From there, some are done, others change to “maintenance”, which can be every other week or once per month.

Regardless, we will collaborate on schedule choices and options.

I’d love to hear from you.
